Probable parent to Caleb would be Benjamin Preble, born 1767-1768 in Strafford Co., New Hampshire.    Benjamin may have married Polly.   Their children:

            Abraham Preble,  married Rhoda May, daughter of Asa May and Sally

                        Seabury, Sept. 1805 

            Caleb Preble, born about 1799 in Ossipee, NH, and married Mary.   They moved to

From a note from Heritage Quest, History of Durham, NH…….Vol. 2, page 95 gives a lineage of the Cromwell family. And in giving lineage says “Samuel Cromwell, often called Crommett or Crumet…………..Oliver Cromwell, born 1782…….said to have been born Brentwood………

 

Page 96 says that Mary, daughter of Oliver, married March 9, 1833, Caleb Preble
