C. NICHOLAS BLOOM, 78, died Thursday, May 19, 2005, at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born August 14, 1926, in Swan Township, Noble County, he attended LaOtto and Huntertown Schools. A World War II veteran, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service as manager of Delivery and Collection for the Fort Wayne Sectional Center with 33 years of service. He was Delivery Manager for Conference & Travel Service from 1989 to 2001. He was a member of American Legion Post 47, National Association Retired Federal Employees and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He enjoyed genealogy and Purdue women’s basketball.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, and calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, with Vigil at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Entombment in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to Masses, St. Charles School Fund, St. John Fort Wayne School Fund or Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
Altona -- DELORES “DEE” M. BLOOM, 79, of Altona, Ind., died Sunday, February 11, 2007 in Garrett. Born May 9, 1927, in Huntertown, she was the daughter of the late JOHN and LAVERN (YATES) HIPPENHAMMER. She married ROBERT “BOB” L. BLOOM on April 26, 1947, in Altona; he passed away July 7, 2004.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law:

Funeral service is noon Thursday at Thomas Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service. The Rev. Richard Pickard officiating. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial is at Christian Union Cemetery. Memorials are to Riley Hospital for Children.
